Autism and Mental Health Training for Mental Health Practitioners

This interactive session aims to provide mental health practitioners with the knowledge and skills to deliver support to adolescent and adult clients on the autism spectrum who have co-occurring mental health conditions.

Topics to be covered include:

• Understanding autism
• Getting to know the individual (sensory preferences, communication preferences, modifications)
• Co-occurring mental health conditions and their impact
• Differential diagnosis
• Mental health treatment modifications for people on the spectrum.
